Sand, sea and a 1976 subdivision
North Haven sits about 20 km north-west of the city on the Lefevre Peninsula, a narrow sand spit with Gulf St Vincent and its white sand beaches on the west and the Gulf Point Marina on the coast. It began as a private subdivision in 1976. The 2021 Census counts 72.9% separate houses and 21.4% semi-detached homes, a median age of 51, and 43.8% of homes owned outright.
