Downpipe or the drain underground?
If water spills from the gutter or the downpipe joint, the blockage is up top: leaves in the gutter or the downpipe. If the downpipe is full to the brim, or water bubbles up out of a pit or the lawn, the underground line is blocked or broken further along.
Slow after rain, or overflowing in a downpour?
A line that drains slowly for hours after rain is usually silted up or partly blocked by roots. One that only overflows in heavy rain is often carrying more water than its pipe can take, or discharging somewhere that backs up. We look at where your stormwater ends up as well as where it starts.
Find the cause before adding drains
A new grate or an extra pit treats the symptom. We clear the existing line, run a camera along it if needed, and quote the repair the line actually needs, before anything new goes in.
Water through a floor or slab
Water coming up through a shed, garage or house floor is a sign to investigate, not a diagnosis. Tell us when it appears, after rain, after a tap runs or all the time, and we assess whether a drain is the cause.
