Drains in Ingle Farm
Most of Ingle Farm went up in one decade, as 2,500 Housing Trust houses built between 1965 and 1975. Their drains are now 50 to 60 years old, and we clear, inspect and repair them.

Ingle Farm
A Trust suburb built in ten years
Ingle Farm sits at the base of the foothills, about 12 km north-east of the city, with Rowe Park in the south and Walkleys Park in the north-east. The Housing Trust bought 730 acres here in 1959, built its first homes in 1965 and had 2,500 houses finished by 1975. Few new houses have been built since, and the population has eased since 1996. In 2021, 92.1% of homes were separate houses and 76.8% had three bedrooms.
A suburb built in ten years has drains of much the same age: 50 to 60 years, earthenware or early PVC. Roots from established gardens get into the joints, and Adelaide's reactive clay, shrinking in summer and swelling in winter, works them open. A third of homes are owned outright, and owners who plan to stay want a drain fixed once. We find the cause, then quote the fix.
- Added a room or a verandah over the years? Tell us when you book. Extensions sometimes sit over the original drain line.
- Find the outside overflow gully, usually near the laundry or kitchen, and keep pot plants and pavers off it. It lets a backed-up sewer overflow outside.
- Keep fat and food scraps out of the kitchen sink. In a drain laid in the 1960s or 70s, they cling to rough joints.
