Elizabeth North was established in the late 1950s as a residential neighbourhood of the planned city of Elizabeth. It is squeezed between Main North Road and the Gawler railway line, with Womma and Broadmeadows stations close by. The Housing Trust built mostly in brick. At the 2021 Census the suburb had 3,588 residents and 1,461 occupied homes, almost evenly split: 49.7% semi-detached and 49.5% separate houses. Two in three had three bedrooms.
